You've probably heard of Khaled (خالد), and if you haven't heard his name then you will recognize at least one of his songs - he's very well-known internationally because of his French lyrics, his appearances at events in the US and the UK as well as the fact that his music is widely acclaimed and used in TV and on movies.
His style of music is called Raï, from his homeland of Algeria which he sings in both Arabic and French. He is often referred to as the King of Raï, and you may have heard him being called Cheb Khaled. Cheb is a title given to singers of Raï which means 'young man'.
The video below is of one of his songs which topped the charts of Europe when it was released, it is mostly in French with a little bit of Arabic and is called 'Aisha'.
